Shomari developed a knack for capturing moments while working for the Oakland Unified School District’s Public Access Channel as a High School Student. He majored in illustration while attending the California College of Arts and is an accomplished graphic design artist who counts Kareem Abdul Jabar, Adonal Foyle and CC Sabathia as clients. Shomari is currently preparing for the release of his first feature length Documentary, “‘TIL INFINITY”, Celebrating 20 Years of the Souls of Mischief “93’Til Infinity”. About the Film - With over 50 interviews with notable emcees, producers and DJs, “Til Infinity” offers a retrospective and in-depth look at the famed Hieroglyphics crew’s landmark 1993 debut album. Oakland filmmaker Shomari Smith interviewed the entire Hieroglyphics collective while traveling across the country to capture intimate dialogues with hip hop notables such as A Tribe Called Quest’s Phife Dawg, Dilated People’s Rakaa Iriscience, Talib Kweli, Yasiin Bey (Mos Def), Robert Bobbito Garcia, Award Winning Writer Thembisa S. Mshaka, Snoop Lion (Snoop Dogg), highly respected A&R rep Dante Ross and Radio/Television Icon Sway Calloway.
